I think we can all agree that abundance is highly sought after as a “good fruit.” I chose it as my word for 2017, and with good reasons! Abundance is that warm feeling that comes from the thought of having plentiful resources and endless good in our lives, everything we need. We might envision it as a table spread heavily with delicious food, or a vault full of cash or gold, but abundance comes in many shapes and forms. Sometimes it’s right in front of us, and we fail to see it.
When Moms Give Themselves Too Much Credit
I was a first-time parent when my twins were born and couldn’t wait to find out what motherhood, my childhood dream, had in store for me. There were a lot of adjustments at first as any new mother would expect with balancing the needs of not one, but two babies. Co-workers and strangers alike felt the need to warn me of the trials of twins, because it could only be seen as a nearly impossible feat in their eyes. I was just glad to finally find out for myself.
The Post Conference Blues & Why Being A Mom Doesn’t Count
The weeks following our semi-annual general conference can feel very similar to those following New Years. With three days of prophets and church leaders sharing modern revelation from God for our time, a sudden rush of excitement, motivation and uplifting thoughts and motives naturally follow. Goals are made, determination set at 100% for at least the next year. Or so we think. Things are going to be different, we think to ourselves silently.
